Soul Kale

How to make Delicious braised, soul food style kale greens seasoned with garlic, pepper, onions, and avocado oil!

Ingredients
  

  • 2 bunches kale stem discarded
  • 1/2 whole yellow onion medium, Julienne style / French cut
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/4 pinch sea salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp avocado oil
  • 1 pinch black pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • In a saute pan, on medium heat, add the avocado oil and the onion
  • Once the onion is soft, add the garlic, stir it until golden
  • Add the kale and use your tongs with rubber ends, stir for 1 minute and turn the stove off, continue stirring. You want the kale to be slightly cooked, not over cooked.

Notes

Wash vegetables and use a salad spinner to remove most of the water. Chop kale leaves by rolling them into a tube and slicing very thinly, creating narrow strips. Believe it or not, the kale taste much better when sliced thinly.
